SEMMA in proud to announce the successful conclusion of its 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Member Mini Expo, held at Bunjil Place on Thursday August 24, 2023. The event marked a significant milestone in SEMMA’s journey of fostering collaboration and innovation within the manufacturing community. Notable attendees included Belinda Wilson MP, Member for Narre Warren North, and Jill Walsh, Victorian Rail Advocate, who engaged with attendees throughout the event.

Presented by new member Manhari Metals, the AGM brought together a diverse selection of industry leaders, professionals and stakeholders from across the South East Melbourne region. Attendees were treated to a fast-paced program that included updates from SEMMA Executives, insights from the keynote speaker, Maddy Gupta CEO of Manhari Metals and an exclusive Mini Expo featuring SEMMA’s Associate members.
The proceedings also presented the opportunity to bid a fond farewell to Sandra George OAM, who announced that she would be stepping down from her role as SEMMA Secretary after 20 years of dedicated service. Sandra’s unwavering commitment and passion have been integral to SEMMA’s success, and her influence will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact. As she embarks on new pursuits, SEMMA extends its heartfelt gratitude for her invaluable contributions and wishes her the very best in her endeavors. Meanwhile, SEMMA is excited to welcome Michael Harrod, General Manager of McKinna Group, to the executive team. Michael’s wealth of experience and industry insights will undoubtedly enrich SEMMA’s mission of fostering growth and innovation within the manufacturing community.
The Member Mini Expo was a highlight of the evening, providing an avenue for SEMMA’s Associate members to showcase their innovative solutions and services. A first for SEMMA, the expo allowed attendees to gain valuable insights and establish connections that can contribute to the growth of their businesses.

The evening was also marked by the distribution of door prizes, with attendees having the chance to win accommodation vouchers for the newly opened Holiday Inn Dandenong, an Apple iPad 64GB Wi-Fi sponsored by Applied Machinery, and a set of new golf clubs from Sear Insurance Brokers.
