This morning, SEMMA and the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Victoria joined forces to deliver an information session designed to give attendees valuable insights on securing government procurement projects. The event titled “Winning Work in Government Projects” took place at a local venue in Springvale and aimed to equip SMEs with the necessary knowledge and tools to position themselves for success. ICN is an organisation which connects businesses with procurement opportunities across various industries and sectors, but primarily in manufacturing and construction.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn directly from Katherine Smith, the Industry Engagement Manager ICN Vic, who provided valuable insights on how businesses can effectively engage with the ICN Gateway, a powerful tool that serves as a vital link between businesses and government procurement projects.
One of the key highlights of the session was Katherine’s tip on using ICN’s capability statement generator, which enables SMEs to create impactful capability statements tailored to different clients and industries. With an up-to-date profile on ICN Gateway, businesses can effectively showcase their expertise, experience, and unique value propositions.
Katherine also detailed what contractors are seeking when considering partnerships for government projects. The focus extended beyond solely technical expertise and encompassed factors such as local engagement, social impact, and sustainability. By clearly identifying their unique selling points, businesses can effectively communicate their value proposition and increase their attractiveness to potential clients and contractors.
The collaboration between SEMMA and ICN Victoria is an example of our combined commitment to supporting the growth and success of local SMEs, recognising the importance of equipping businesses with the necessary knowledge and resources to successfully navigate the complex landscape of procurement projects.
Thank you to our attendees and the team at ICN Victoria for creating such a successful session. For more information about SEMMA and ICN Victoria’s initiatives and upcoming events, please visit our respective calendars:
