MEET OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Rita Excell – Head of Transport for ANZ for Amazon Web Services
Rita is a qualified Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience across transport planning, urban planning, business transformation and managing organisational change. Throughout her career she has been at the forefront of transformation being involved in early sustainability projects for water conservation in the late 80’s and early 90’s, then moving to traffic and road safety, where she was the South Australian lead for the introduction of the Australian Road Assessment Program AusRAP and then in 2015 running the first on road demonstration of automated vehicle technology in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2022, following an extensive career covering, local government, road safety, asset management, research, consulting and industry associations, including running the Australia and New Zealand Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI), from 2016 to 2021, she joined AWS as the ANZ industry head for Transport. In this role, Rita works with Public Sector Customers, across Land, Sea, Air and Rail Transport. Her role is to guide customers on their transition to the cloud and then assisting them to leverage the scale and agility of the cloud, to deliver, safe and sustainable services to their customers.
