SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT

6 May @ 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm

SEMMA is proud to announce the launch of the SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT at AMW 2025 on Tuesday 6 May at 2.00pm.
Come and hear from SEMMA President Peter Angelico and SEMMA CEO Honi Walker as we launch this document and invite policy makers to listen and engage with the manufacturing industry.

Manufacturing  is Australia’s 7th largest employer, that’s 878,000 Australians employed in manufacturing jobs and that’s equal to 6.8% of all employment.
Manufacturing is Australia’s 5th largest industry for economic output – contributing 5.9% to GDP.
Australian Manufacturing is in the top 4 of industries creating 8.2% of annual export earnings*.
We know Australia needs manufacturing. Countries that embrace their sovereign capability through manufacturing have a stronger and more secure economy.

The SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT is a leadership directive. SEMMA has taken this opportunity to announce several policy opportunities that introduce beneficial economic changes. These ideas are tested amongst our members and supporters and have found a voice.
The SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT advocates for a set corporate business tax rate of 15%. The benefits of such a policy would be;

Reduce Cost Pressures, Encourage Investment and Enable Efficiency in Government Support.

The flow on effects of a stable and economically viable, innovative manufacturing sector means a higher productivity benefitting the whole nation.

For 22 years, SEMMA has advocated on behalf of manufacturers based in the south east of Melbourne – but we are more than just our location.
We are the Voice for Manufacturers in Australia.
For the SME’s, for the mums and dads, for the family business that had an idea and the self-belief to start their own manufacturing business, growing it to become part of one of the largest sectors contributing to our economy and employing thousands of people.

The SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT is a living document that we will promote to our policymakers now and into the future. There’s more policy conversations to be had. Come and join us for the launch and keep the conversation going.
